Programming interrupting Ads

I mistakenly tuned into one of the commercial stations by accident last night and an ad break was on so I went and made a cuppa. While waiting for the kettle to boil I glanced over and the ad break continued so I made a quick pit stop thinking that I might get to see some of the show upon my return. Tea in hand I sat down only to see a new commercial break start. What’s the shortest program segment ever because I’m sure this was it.  Then after the commercial break I watched the program credits and then another break.  Leads me to thinking if the networks trying to reduce their audiences?
